Metabones Sony NEX to Canon T Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x II adapter is designed to mount Canon EF full-frame lenses on Sony E-mount APS-C/Super 35 cameras. It can also be used on full-frame cameras if the menu provides switching to APS-C/Super 35 mode. The optical design includes 5 elements in 4 groups. With optical elements, the adapter remaps the full-frame lens image to the crop sensor with minimal loss, changing the crop factor from 1.5x to 1.07x. Another feature is increasing the lens maximum aperture by 1 stop.
With the adapter installed, electronic communication between camera and lens is supported and key controls remain available, such as aperture control. The manufacturer confirms compatibility with Sony PXW-FS7, Cinema EOS lenses (autofocus, aperture, and zoom control are retained), and various Sony cameras.
The adapter supports:
– 5-axis stabilization on A7RIV, A7III, A7RIII, A7II, A7RII and A7SII (lens distance information is required; otherwise 3-axis stabilization is used)
– Lens stabilization (IS)
– Electronic manual focus (e.g., Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II and Canon EF 50mm f/1.0L)
– Display of distance and zoom on VG and FS camcorder series (with lenses that support distance information)
– Recognition of “APS-C sensor” mode on full-frame cameras
The adapter does not support:
– Canon EF-S / DX / DC / Di II lenses
– Aberration corrections such as vignetting, distortion, chromatic aberration
Included: Metabones T Speed Booster Ultra 0.71x II (Sony E to Canon EF) adapter, rear and front caps, carrying box.
