Nikon Z8 mirrorless camera with Z mount and a full-frame CMOS sensor features subject-tracking autofocus and supports ProRes 422 HQ and RAW formats. It can record video up to 8K (7680×4320) 30p; in 4K UHD, frame rates up to 120 fps are available. Continuous recording time is 120 minutes at 4K 60p and 90 minutes at 8K 30p. Still shooting supports up to 120 fps, and up to 20 fps when shooting RAW. Low-light autofocus from -7 to 19 EV enables recognition of moving subjects, faces, and eyes in dim conditions. An AI-based processing system can recognize up to nine different subject types simultaneously.
Built-in optical stabilization allows shooting at shutter speeds up to 6 stops slower. The tilting touchscreen LCD supports four-axis tilt in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Pre-release recording captures images 1 second before full shutter press and 4 seconds after. The Real-Live Viewfinder does not blackout, helping capture any moment. Built-in Wi-Fi enables wireless connection to a smartphone for fast transfer and publishing.
