Sony PXW-FS7 camcorder with an Exmor 4K Super 35 sensor supports recording in 4K/2K RAW and XAVC formats, includes continuous Super Slow Motion, built-in ND filters, and 14 stops of dynamic range. It supports 4K 60p recording and Full HD up to 180 fps. Recording formats include XAVC (4K 60p, Full HD 60p, and 10-bit 4:2:2) and MPEG-2 HD 422 used in broadcast. The camera supports internal 4K recording and a wide range of frame rates (59.94P, 50P, 29.97P, 25P, 23.98P), with ISO 2000 sensitivity and 14 stops of dynamic range. Continuous 180 fps Full HD recording is available internally to XQD cards. For RAW or Apple ProRes, an external recorder is required; in that case, 2K RAW up to 240 fps is possible.
Sony PXW-FS7 supports XAVC and MPEG-2 HD 422. XAVC Intra and Long GOP are available via H.264 AVC. Intra supports 10-bit 4:2:2 for 4K and Full HD and bitrates up to 600 Mb/s. Long GOP balances image quality and recording time for Full HD 10-bit 4:2:2 at 50 Mb/s for long-form shooting. MPEG-2 HD 422 is supported for broadcast workflows. S-Log3 provides a wider dynamic range exceeding 1300% and offers an S-Log curve close to Cineon Log for easier grading and cinematic results. S-Gamut3.Cine targets the DCI-P3 gamut, while S-Gamut3 aims to cover most real-world colors and is suitable for archiving. The camcorder includes a Multi Interface shoe supporting wireless microphone systems.
