Genus shoulder rig is a convenient and fairly lightweight modular system for DSLR cameras and camcorders. The rig is based on 15 mm rods, with a shoulder pad mounted on them. A plate between the rods and the shoulder support allows the rear rods to be offset left or right relative to the front rods where the camera is mounted. Additional accessories such as a monitor, matte box, follow focus, and others can be mounted on the rods using clamps (not included) for comfortable operation. The use of aluminum keeps the rig lightweight while resistant to external damage. A counterweight ensures balanced placement on the shoulder throughout the shoot. As with other modular shoulder rigs, the system can be significantly lightened if needed by removing the front rods and moving the camera plate to the rear rods.
