Odyssey 7Q monitor-recorder combines a high-quality 7″ OLED display with a recorder capable of capturing 4K RAW, including slow-motion recording. Specific slow-motion settings and recording formats depend on the camera used; compatible camera lists and FAQs are available in the “Instructions” section. All units are enabled for SONY RAW, CANON RAW, ARRI RAW, and 2K RAW. The monitor is compact, only 2.5 cm thick and weighs 540 g.
Odyssey 7Q simplifies camera setup with a clear user interface. It automatically detects the incoming video format and, where supported, adapts to camera metadata (ARRI RAW, CANON RAW, SONY RAW). Multi-stream monitoring allows display of up to four HD streams (1080p30) in quad-view with live switching.
The OLED display has 1280×800 resolution, wide color gamut, 176° viewing angle, and 3400:1 contrast. Motion is displayed with minimal blur and deep blacks. The screen can be divided into four equal sections for image monitoring and analysis; vectorscope, histogram, and focus assist can be used simultaneously.
Professional tools include waveform monitoring, RGB display, zebra, focus assist, vectorscope, histogram, LUT support, false color, timecode, and audio level meters. Zebra has two levels (e.g., 100% and a warning level such as 70%). Focus peaking offers three modes. LUTs are supported for ARRI, Canon, and Sony. The CIE chart indicates coverage of REC709 and approximately 95% of DCI-P3. Bluetooth LE remote control is supported via iPhone and Android apps.
Recording formats include Avid DNxHD (up to 120 fps), uncompressed HD/2K RGB 444 (up to 60 fps), 2K/HD RAW, ARRIRAW (4:3 and 16:9), Canon 4K RAW, Sony FS-700 RAW. Also supports recording with Avid DNxHD at 36–220 Mbps.
The recorder includes Convergent Design SSDs 256GB and 512GB, supporting read/write speeds over 500 MB/s. SSD architecture supports RAID 1 for automatic backup or RAID 0 for write speeds over 1 GB/s. Interfaces include 2 HD-SDI inputs, 2 HD-SDI outputs, 2 configurable HD-SDI I/O ports, 1 HDMI input/output, and 1 audio input/output.
