Canon EF 24–70mm f/2.8L USM combines a classic standard zoom range with a bright f/2.8 aperture and ring-type USM autofocus. The 24mm wide end offers strong wide-angle perspective control, while 70mm enters the portrait range. The optical design uses 16 elements in 13 groups, including two aspherical elements and one UD element to reduce aberrations. Only the rear group moves during focusing, maintaining fast AF and compatibility with polarizing and graduated filters. Minimum focusing distance is 0.38 m.
