The lightweight optical construction includes 9 elements in 7 groups, including one ED aspherical element to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations and minimize performance variation across subject distances. Internal focusing with a stepper motor moves lightweight focusing elements for fast, quiet autofocus.
Metal components provide durability and a premium feel, while the aperture and focus rings are designed for convenient adjustment, with smooth resistance and precise click stops.
