Developed in collaboration with Leica, it uses four aspherical elements and two extra-low-dispersion elements for high image quality and sharpness across the frame. The optical design also effectively reduces edge halos and other distortions.
A linear motor provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus. Silent focusing and a stepper-driven aperture that smoothly compensates for lighting changes make it suitable for video as well.
Built-in Power O.I.S. optical image stabilization minimizes camera shake for sharper handheld shots and can work together with in-body stabilization for maximum effectiveness.
A durable metal body protects the lens from dust and harsh weather and maintains operation down to -10°C.
