The lens consists of 14 elements in 9 groups. An ultra-thin nano coating on the front element reduces flare and ghosting. Ultra-low-dispersion elements minimize chromatic aberrations, and ultra-high-refractive-index elements help achieve high sharpness across the image field. Thanks to four aspherical elements, the lens remains compact: length approx. 73.8 mm, weight approx. 305 g.
Built-in POWER O.I.S. optical stabilization helps deliver sharp images across the frame, compensating both fast small movements and slower larger movements, which is especially helpful in low light. MEGA O.I.S. technology compensates even stronger shake and vibration, enabling natural handheld shooting without a tripod.
Supports video recording: smooth aperture changes without sudden exposure jumps, and quiet operation for better audio capture. Effective autofocus performance supports 4K recording where precise focus is important.
