Nikkor AF-S 70–300mm f/4.5–5.6G IF-ED VR telephoto zoom lens (no aperture ring) provides 4.3x zoom with a 70–300 mm range (105–450 mm equivalent on Nikon DX-format DSLR cameras). The design includes ED (extra-low dispersion) glass elements to reduce aberrations. The lens features Nikon’s second-generation Vibration Reduction system (VR II), enabling handheld shooting with stabilization comparable to using a shutter speed 4 stops faster (based on Nikon performance testing). Normal mode compensates for handheld vibration, while Active mode reduces mechanical vibration. A Silent Wave Motor (SWM) and Internal Focusing (IF) provide fast, quiet focusing.
