Optical design: 11 elements in 6 groups; the rear element uses an aspherical surface, and several elements use special glass with partial dispersion. The lens delivers strong correction of distortion, field curvature, and color. The optical construction largely eliminates typical wide-angle distortion where off-center lines appear curved.
Loxia lenses allow de-clicking the aperture detents using the included tool via a set screw on the mount, enabling smoother exposure transitions during panning.
