The constant f/2.8 maximum aperture across the zoom range supports shooting in challenging lighting and enables creative images with expressive bokeh and smooth background blur outside the focus area. The optical design includes 13 elements, including aspherical elements and low-dispersion glass, which together reduce chromatic aberrations and increase resolution across the entire frame. BBAR lens coating suppresses halos and flare, providing high contrast and color reproduction. The RXD motor handles autofocus.
