Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro digital cinema camera with Canon EF mount, Super 35 sensor (23.10×12.99 mm), and built-in ND filters supports recording up to 6K (6144×3456) at 50 fps and 6K 2.4:1 (6144×2560) at 60 fps. Maximum frame rates include 120 fps in 2.8K 17:9 (2880×1512) and HD (1920×1080). The camera supports direct recording to external drives via USB-C 3.1 Gen 1 in Blackmagic RAW and ProRes, and supports CFast and SD/UHS-II cards. Recording can be saved as 12-bit Blackmagic RAW (up to 6K) or 10-bit ProRes (up to 4K).
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro features a 5-inch HDR tilting touchscreen (1920×1080) with 1500 nits brightness and a modern operating system for fast setup.
The camera includes motorized ND filters for quickly reducing light by 2, 4, or 6 stops. They are designed specifically for this camera to improve color reproduction in challenging conditions and reduce infrared spectral errors.
Canon EF lens compatibility is retained, including cinema lens series such as Carl Zeiss Compact Prime and Canon EF Cinema EOS. Lens functionality is retained; focus and aperture can be controlled via the touchscreen or body buttons. 6144×3456 resolution enables additional reframing in post. The camera is versatile for narrative and documentary films, series, commercials, wedding films, and online platform content.
A 13-stop dynamic range provides a cinematic image with greater detail in highlights and shadows. Two base ISO values are provided: ISO 400 and ISO 3200, with maximum ISO 25,600 for low-light shooting. 3D LUT support and fifth-generation color science improve realism and more accurate skin tone rendering, based on a complex gamma curve designed to capture expanded highlight/shadow information at 12-bit depth.
Recording media include SD, UHS-II, and CFast 2.0. SD cards are suitable for Full HD. UHS-II and CFast 2.0 support 6K recording in supported formats at specified frame rates. Direct recording to an external SSD or flash drive is supported via USB-C.
Audio can be recorded using four built-in microphones or external microphones via two Mini XLR 48V inputs with phantom power. 3.5 mm stereo jacks are available for accessories, and a built-in speaker allows monitoring audio on set.
Power options include NP-F570 batteries or 110–240V AC. USB-C power input supports external batteries, laptops, or mains. A Blackmagic Battery Pro Grip is available as an optional rental.
HDMI outputs HDR material and a 10-bit signal with metadata (frame rate, aperture, shutter angle, white balance, ISO, timecode, and audio levels) to an external on-set monitor.
