Canon EOS C300 Mark II features an improved 8.85 MP Super 35 CMOS sensor that delivers high-resolution images with low noise. Increased sensor readout speed significantly reduces rolling shutter. A wide ISO range up to ISO 102,400 provides strong low-light results. Built-in ND filters increase versatility and mobility compared to the previous version, offering up to 10 stops of exposure control (in extended mode) in bright conditions or when using wider apertures.
Recording uses the XF-AVC H.264 4:2:2 codec, enabling 4K recording to memory cards at 410 Mb/s / 10-bit. Canon Log2 provides up to 15 stops of dynamic range for post-production. The camera can simultaneously record 4K/UHD to CFast 2.0 cards, record proxy files to an SD card, and output 4K RAW to external devices. Multiple color gamuts are supported, including BT.2020, Canon Cinema Gamut, and DCI-P3 for different output requirements and workflows.
For documentary shooting, Canon EOS C300 Mark II includes Dual Pixel CMOS AF covering approximately 80% vertically and 80% horizontally, face-detection AF, and automatic white balance adjustment. Autofocus options are improved, including selectable AF speed and AF tracking characteristics.
Canon EOS C300 Mark II supports 24-bit / 48 kHz LPCM audio, providing higher quality than CD. The camera includes 4-channel input, including a mic connector, an internal mono microphone, and two XLR connectors, allowing multiple sources for ambient sound recording.
