Canon EOS C300 Mark III is a versatile Super 35 EF-mount camera that supports 4K 120p slow motion, wide dynamic range, and Dual Pixel CMOS AF. Internal 4K recording in Cinema RAW Light is available to CFexpress Type B. The 4K Super 35 sensor and DIGIC DV7 processor deliver high-resolution images with 16+ stops of dynamic range. With the DGO sensor, each pixel is read at two gain levels—high and low—and combined into one image. High gain is optimized for shadow detail, while low gain preserves highlights, maintaining pixel-level detail across both bright and dark areas for up to 16+ stops of dynamic range.
EOS C300 Mark III supports continuous 4K recording up to 120 fps in Cinema RAW Light and XF-AVC. In 2K (crop) mode, frame rates from 12 to 180 fps are available. A dedicated Slow & Fast button simplifies configuring these modes. Phase-detection Dual Pixel CMOS AF provides a graphical focus guide; the indicator turns green when the subject is in focus, which helps manual focus pulling, especially in 4K. With Canon face detection, Dual Pixel CMOS AF can recognize, focus, and track faces during movement.
The camera includes electronic image stabilization (IS) with 5-axis correction. Even with lenses without electronic communication, electronic stabilization can be used by entering focal length manually. 12G-SDI provides four times the bandwidth of 3G-SDI, supporting 4K workflows and outputting 4K 50/60p over a single cable. HDMI can also output 4K 50/60p over a single cable. Electronically controlled ND filters support 2/4/6 stops (expandable to 8/10 stops), enabling shallow depth of field even in daylight. A dedicated LUT button allows creating and loading custom LUTs for accurate monitoring and applying different LUTs to each output. EOS C300 Mark III supports ACES 1.0; with Canon IDT support, footage can be imported directly into ACES workflows.
Dual card slots support simultaneous internal recording in 4K Cinema RAW Light (10/12-bit) or 4K XF-AVC (4:2:2, 10-bit) to CFexpress Type B. XF-AVC supports ALL-I compression for higher quality and Long GOP for longer recording times via stronger compression. Proxy recording to SD card is available.
