Canon C70 professional RF-mount camera features a low-noise Super 35 sensor and supports up to 4K 120p with audio recording and Dual Pixel CMOS AF. The camera can record 12-bit Cinema RAW Light up to 645 Mb/s in LT (light), ST (standard), and HQ (high quality) modes. In Super 16 mode, 2K 180p recording is available for stronger slow-motion effects. Two SD card slots allow simultaneous recording of 4K XF-AVC / MP4 (4:2:2, 10-bit). XF-AVC supports ALL-I and Long GOP compression codecs for flexible post-processing. MP4 recording with HEVC H.265 or H.264 Long GOP is also supported. Dynamic range up to 16+ stops delivers high image quality in low-light conditions.
Dual Pixel CMOS AF phase-detection provides graphical focus guidance; the indicator turns green when the subject is precisely in focus, aiding manual focus pulls, especially in 4K. An intelligent tracking and recognition system based on deep-learning algorithms tracks faces accurately even if the subject turns away. AF tracking speed and response can be configured.
The 3.5″ touchscreen LCD enables quick parameter control. ISO/gain selection supports smooth transitions and automatic sensitivity adjustment when moving between bright and dark scenes. A 1/4″ threaded hole on the handle supports prolonged portrait-orientation shooting on a tripod or gimbal. Vertical shooting mode supports content for mobile viewing or digital signage. With RF lenses, in-camera and lens stabilization can work together. Anamorphic lenses are supported, including 1.3× and 2× squeeze, with de-squeeze for LCD and HDMI output.
Interfaces include 13 assignable buttons, dedicated audio control dials, two Mini XLR inputs, MIC input, headphone jack, remote control jack, HDMI Type-A output, timecode input/output (BNC), and USB-C support for third-party Wi-Fi and Ethernet adapters.
