The camera produces images with shallow depth of field and supports multiple sensor modes. Internal recording supports ProRes and XF-AVC 4:2:2 to CFast cards at up to 810 Mb/s, as well as uncompressed Cinema RAW. Cinema RAW supports external recording at 5.9K 12/10-bit using a compatible recorder, enabling 4K RAW or 4K ProRes up to 60 fps. Oversampled 5.9K processing improves 4K and 2K image quality while reducing moiré and noise.
An SD card slot supports proxy recording in XF-AVC 4:2:0 8-bit for fast editing. Dual CFast slots allow backup or relay recording. The EF mount supports a wide range of cinema lenses, including anamorphic optics. Dual Pixel CMOS AF covers approximately 80% of the frame and supports face detection and tracking. AF speed and response can be adjusted for natural focus transitions, with visual focus guides for manual focus.
Canon Log2 provides up to 15 stops of dynamic range, while Canon Log3 provides 14 stops with faster workflows. Support for HDR standards, BT.2020, and ACES ensures broad compatibility.
