The optical design and lens-to-camera communication have been improved. Extender EF 1.4x III uses seven elements in three groups. All optical elements feature Canon Super Spectra coating to reduce flare and ghosting. The front and rear elements have a Fluorine Coating for easier removal of fingerprints and contaminants. An integrated processor ensures accurate data transfer between lens and camera for focusing, metering, and image identification, helping deliver sharp images with correct exposure.
The EF 1.4x III supports the latest L-series lenses and provides improved performance compared to previous models. A precise lock/unlock mechanism enables quick attachment and removal, reducing the time the camera and lens are exposed to the environment.
