Carl Zeiss 28–80 Compact Zoom CZ.2 T2.9 lens is designed for lightweight HD video cameras and weighs 2.5 kg, allowing use on light Steadicam systems. It covers 4K and 6K sensors and is compatible with full-frame cameras. The lens features an 18-blade circular aperture for smooth background blur, a design that eliminates focus breathing, and a Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating for improved contrast and color reproduction. Minimum focusing distance is 0.83 m. Focus does not shift during zooming thanks to internal optical stabilization.
