Fujinon XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR prime lens (16 mm focal length; 24 mm in 35mm equivalent) features a constant fast f/1.4 aperture and is rated for operation down to −10°C. A minimum focusing distance of just 15 cm enables close-up shots with pleasing bokeh, while high optical performance delivers sharp, high-contrast images in a wide range of conditions. High-speed autofocus further expands shooting possibilities.
The optical design consists of 13 elements in 11 groups, including two aspherical elements and two low-dispersion elements to reduce spherical and chromatic aberrations and maintain high resolution even at f/1.4. Image quality is enhanced by Fujifilm HT-EBC coating on all elements and Nano GI coating on the rear surface of the G1 element. Nano GI reduces flare and rainbow ghosting when light enters at an angle.
As you move closer to the subject, bokeh increases and perspective becomes more dynamic, expanding creative options when shooting wide-angle. High image quality across all focusing distances (including 15 cm) is achieved through aberration correction and a floating focus system using two lens groups that work together depending on subject distance.
A rear focusing system is used for high-speed autofocus; 0.11 s AF is achieved via a high-torque coreless motor driving the AF group. The lens is also lightweight and compact, weighing 375 g.
