Kenko Variable ND2.5–1000 77 mm (NDX version) threaded adjustable neutral density filter reduces the amount of light entering the lens and allows you to vary the density. Unlike most variable ND filters, the NDX version is designed using polarization suppression technology. The filter can vary ND from 2.5 to 1000; the manufacturer states the maximum practical value is ND450, and at higher settings color shifts may appear as cross-shaped darkening. Useful in bright sun, allowing wide-open aperture shooting and longer shutter speeds to create motion effects, for example the “milky water” look.
