Sigma 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art fast wide-angle lens features large-diameter aspherical elements and is suitable for panoramas, landscapes, night sky shooting, architecture, and close-range portraits. The bright f/1.4 aperture at 20 mm is achieved via a double aspherical element with a 59 mm diameter. This helps deliver sharp images with rich color in difficult conditions without requiring very long shutter speeds, while the rounded 9-blade diaphragm produces smooth, pleasing bokeh.

The optical design minimizes distortion, lateral chromatic aberration, and sagittal coma at wide apertures. The lens includes 2 FLD glass elements and 5 SLD elements to reduce chromatic aberrations, especially near image edges, and also reduces axial aberrations. The result is high image quality with consistent sharpness and contrast and minimal color fringing. The construction is optimized for controlling flare and internal reflections, with Sigma’s Super Multi-Layer Coating improving sharpness and contrast in complex lighting. The HSM ultrasonic motor provides fast, quiet autofocus, and an updated algorithm makes focusing smoother. Manual focus override is available by turning the focus ring.
