Sony PXW-Z150 professional handheld camcorder supports 4K recording and Full HD at up to 120 fps. This lightweight, compact camera with a 1-inch stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor is suitable for a wide range of shooting scenarios. The large 20 MP sensor delivers low noise and reduced blur by capturing more light, providing sharp, stable images even in low light. The large sensor also enables bokeh (soft background defocus) to draw attention to key subjects. Sony PXW-Z150 records Full HD at 120 fps and delivers high-quality 4K with up to 5× slow motion and 2× fast motion. Color depth is preserved and the sensor does not crop the image.
Sony PXW-Z150 supports high-quality 4K and Full HD recording using the XAVC Long GOP codec at 100 Mb/s in 4K QFHD. Higher bitrate XAVC Long improves detail rendering and reduces noise. PAL/NTSC workflow switching adds flexibility. Integration with broadcast standards is supported via Full HD MPEG-2 HD recording (50 Mb/s and 35 Mb/s). AVCHD adds additional workflow compatibility.
Sony PXW-Z150 includes a Sony G wide-angle lens with 12× optical zoom, delivering high resolution, sharpness, and contrast across the frame. Clear Image digital zoom extends reach: at the 12× optical limit, pixel-based super-resolution enables up to 18× zoom in 4K QFHD and up to 24× in HD without image quality loss.
Monitoring and control are supported by a 1.44M-dot OLED EVF with a wide viewing angle, large eyecup, and an adjustable flip-out LCD panel with 1.55M dots for minimal-latency operation. Built-in features reduce the need for accessories: a 4-position ND filter eliminates the need for separate filters, and the Multi Interface shoe supports power, signal transfer, and synchronized on/off for compatible Sony accessories. Dual SDXC/SDHC slots support separate or combined use. RELAY mode switches recording to the second card when the first is full; SIMUL mode records to both cards simultaneously for instant backup. Professional interfaces include 3G-SDI, HDMI, Multi/Micro USB, XLR audio, remote control, and composite (RCA). A branded cold shoe adapter is included for expanded accessory mounting.
