Sony SEL 24–105mm f/4.0 G OSS lens is designed for full-frame cameras and combines a wide focal range with a constant f/4 aperture for portraits, landscapes, architecture, and more, delivering high image quality. The design uses four aspherical elements to effectively suppress distortion and maintain high resolution across the entire image area throughout the zoom range. Three low-dispersion glass elements further reduce chromatic aberrations and improve resolution. Sharpness and natural color are maintained to the edges of the frame. Nano AR coating suppresses unwanted reflections that can cause flare and ghosting in backlight or complex lighting, ensuring consistently high contrast and clarity. Reduced flare from oblique light provides more flexibility in composition and scene setup. A circular aperture and carefully tuned spherical aberration achieve a balanced relationship between sharpness and bokeh.
DDSSM-driven autofocus is fast, accurate, and quiet, and the refined optical design minimizes angle-of-view shifts during zooming. A focus hold button, manual focus ring, AF/MF switch, and other controls provide additional shooting control. The focus hold button can be assigned other functions via the camera menu.
