Zoom R16 portable studio instantly turns any space into a recording studio. In addition to a 16-track recorder, the Zoom R16 functions as a control surface, audio interface, and DAW controller. It includes built-in condenser microphones, eight inputs (mic, line, instrument), 135 digital effects, and a chromatic tuner.

Zoom R16 supports 16 tracks for recording and playback, with up to eight tracks recorded simultaneously in WAV format. Battery power (6 AA batteries, approx. 4.5 hours) allows mobile recording, while eight inputs enable direct connection of external microphones, line-level devices, or instruments such as electric guitar or bass. After recording, tracks can be mixed using the built-in mixer with physical faders, EQ, pan controls, and 135 digital effects including amp models and mastering effects.

The recorder features eight combo connectors for XLR or 1/4-inch balanced or unbalanced cables. Inputs 5 and 6 provide phantom power (48 V) for condenser microphones. Outputs include two 1/4-inch TRS jacks and a headphone output with independent volume control. Via USB, the Zoom R16 operates as an 8-in / 2-out audio interface for DAW use. Recording is made to SD or SDHC cards up to 32 GB.
